The song dates to 1835, La Danza" (Tarantella Napoletana) by Gioachino Rossini and Carlo Pepoli. By 1871 in Italy, "bawdier" (?) versions were circulating. This version copyright 1927 by Sicilian sailor Paolo Citorello. and that 1927 copyright has now expired in 2023 - hah! Mario il Basso on vocals and harmony.
